RUSE, Bulgaria (AP) — A man was taken into custody Tuesday in connection with the slaying of Bulgarian television reporter Viktoria Marinova, whose body was found dumped after she highlighted possible government corruption, the Bulgarian interior ministry said.
The ministry said "a Romanian citizen of Ukrainian descent" was held, and a team of top investigators are actively working to solve the murder.
Police are investigating the rape and slaying of Marinova, 30, whose strangled body was found Saturday near the Danube River.
